Hey, I’m Shi Li.
I’m a Senior AI Scientist at Bosch (China), based in Shanghai. My work sits at the intersection of Generative AI and enterprise systems — turning SAP-era business processes into intelligent, automated, decision-driven pipelines.
The path so far
My career zig-zagged through three very different domains, and I draw on all of them every day:

Automotive software — SAIC Motor (2018–2020). I built FOTA software following ASPICE (ENG4–ENG8) for secure remote ECU reflashing, owned OTA signal design, and shipped virtual dashboard features on production bench-test rigs. It’s where I learned what production-grade actually means when the thing you ship lives inside a moving car.

Computer Vision — Bosch (2020–2025). As a Senior CV Engineer I led agile delivery of PyTorch-based perception models for real-world industrial workloads — detection, segmentation and quality inspection. The unglamorous, essential middle layer of factory AI.

GenAI & Enterprise AI — Bosch (2025 — now). Today I design LLM agents, retrieval pipelines and decision systems that rewire SAP workflows into something fundamentally faster and smarter. Production, not prototypes.
What I care about
AI systems that actually ship — secure, observable, boring to operate, and genuinely useful once they reach the people whose workflows they touch. The hype is loud; the engineering is quiet.
Off the clock
I play the soprano saxophone. Kenny G famously said, “if you do something three hours a day for forty years, you get pretty good at it.” I try to bring the same patience to both craft and code.
